Description
The Afternoon/Evening extrusion mechanic will be responsible for completing maintenance tasks and repairs while contributing to a safe and cost-effective work environment.
Role and Responsibilities
· Perform troubleshooting, preventive and demand maintenance for production lines including electrical and mechanical repairs, replace components such as: motors and motor drives, pumps, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions, make adjustments keeping in mind quality, tolerances and order of operations.
· Work from schedules, work orders, manuals, blueprints, charts and instructions.
· Use precision measuring devise (multimeters, calipers, etc.)
· Maintain, repair, and install a wide variety of machine parts, components and equipment.
· Effectively communicate with peers, production associates, and supervision.
Required skills/abilities
· Must have knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 120/480 volts)
· Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting
· Must demonstrate an understanding of safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely
· Must have a solid work history showing the ability to maintain a good attendance record
· Must have your own set of standard tools
· Plastic extrusion experience is a plus
Requirements
Education and experience
· Associates degree/certificate in related field or
· Comparable manufacturing experience
physical requirements
· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Intermittent periods of crouching, kneeling, working in confined areas and in varied temperatures and outdoors as necessary to safely service equipment.
· Ability to lift 25 lbs
