Job Summary
Maintains and/or repairs all manufacturing and supporting equipment and building and property systems, including, air conditioning, plumbing, electricity, etc.; maintains equipment as per preventive maintenance scheduling. Adheres to all departmental/company policies and standards to include (but not limited to): (1) maintains a neat, clean and safe work area; (2) maintains regular and consistent attendance; and (3) maintains positive working relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Installs new or relocated machinery, in terms of providing electrical supply to the equipment, visually inspecting and testing equipment.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans, lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Completes work orders, conducts
- Determines proper course of action, related to repair vs. replacement vs. modification of equipment, tools, etc., and makes recommendations regarding such to supervisor.
- Conducts preventative maintenance on a bi-weekly and annual basis or per Preventive Maintenance program
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs gauges, values, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or related mechanically inclined field required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Pipefitting, heating and general mechanical skills preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Understands electrical, mechanical and control systems.
- High ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong mental reasoning, common sense, and problem solving capabilities.
- Ability to climb ladder is needed.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform simply math using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
