TekPro is partnered with established manufacturing companies in the Elgin and Bartlett areas that are looking to add experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians to their 2nd and 3rd shift teams.
We are looking for hands-on maintenance professionals with a combination of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience who can diagnose equipment problems, complete repairs, and help keep production running efficiently.
These are full-time, direct-hire opportunities offering stable employment, consistent schedules, and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of automated production and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production and manufacturing equipment.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, motors, and facility systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
Work with motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, and conveyors.
Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motor controls, VFDs, relays, switches, and sensors.
Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery and automated equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, repairs, and installations as needed.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment failures before they cause downtime.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Follow all plant safety, lockout/tagout, and maintenance procedures.
Previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Electrician, or similar position.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing, production, or packaging equipment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience is highly preferred.
Experience with motors, VFDs, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, and motor controls.
PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus; programming experience is not required.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings is preferred.
Experience in food manufacturing, packaging, corrugated/printing, converting, automated manufacturing, or other high-volume production environments is a plus.
Ability to independently diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs.
Availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
