The Maintenance Technician supports maintenance needs of the plant building, equipment, and grounds.
**Duties**
- Plan and perform operations to rig, move, install, and erect heavy duty machinery, precision machine tools and other equipment and facilities, and maintenance work on buildings, structures, facilities, etc.
- Plan oversee and engage in building repairs and alterations; repair and maintain the heating, piping, plumbing and sprinkler systems; do masonry, concrete and sheet metal repair work as assigned.
- Diagnose machine and equipment malfunctions and disassemble, repair, and reassemble units.
- Rebuild or overhaul machines and equipment.
- Plan work projects, requisition materials, oversee contract work such as construction or remodeling of new and existing buildings and structures, installation and repair of facilities and utilities, etc.
**Requirements**
- Education equivalent to vocational or high school graduate plus completion of a formal accredited Journeyman apprenticeship or an equivalent trades training program.
- Up to three years of diversified experience required to acquire sufficient millwrighting and rigging background to perform work.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- General knowledge of and ability to use computers and operate a variety of small hand tools and precision measuring devices as well as a general understanding of machining equipment and practices.
- Ability to drive a forklift, training and certification will be provided.
- Occasionally lift and/or move parts and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
