The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. This role supports continuous improvement efforts, minimizes downtime, and ensures equipment operates at optimal performance within an automotive manufacturing environment.

 Requirements

2.1 Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and: · ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard; · IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards. 2.2 Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors. 2.3 Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy. 2.4 Safety and Continuous Improvement · Follow all OSHA and Company Safety Policies and Procedures. · Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities. · Maintain a clean and safe work area (5S standards) · Suggest and implement improvement to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency 2.5 Equipment Maintenance & Repair · Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment · Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. · Maintain all production equipment including CNC, Forging Presses, Shotblast and Heat Treating Furnaces · Execute scheduled PM Tasks and document completion in the CMMS system. 2.6 Documentation & Reporting · Record maintenance activities and repairs in the CMMS system · Provide detailed shift report and communicate issues to incoming technicians and supervisors. · Work closely with production operators, supervisors, maintenance planners
 

 Academics/Educational Requirements

3.1 High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred 3.2 2-5+ years of maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing plant preferred 3.3 Training: See LFC Training Matrix for training requirements

 

 Required Skills/Experience:
 

4.1 Technical Skills · Strong Mechanical troubleshooting skills · Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and conveyors. · Familiarity in Welding, Fabrication and Machine Shop preferred 4.2 Ability to evaluate condition of damaged mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement. Compare states of each item before and after damage, consider cost and feasibility of repairs in compliance with codes and regulations and examine advantages of replacing equipment. Assess suitability of new equipment needed for installations and repairs. 4.3 Ability to work in teams that include production, quality, supervisors and engineering 4.4 Ability to provide technical support and services to engineers.
