A growing automotive manufacturer near Warren is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves inspecting and servicing facility and production equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and addressing mechanical and electrical issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong maintenance background, be confident using various tools, and be capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints and repair manuals.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections of machinery and facility systems
Execute preventative maintenance tasks to reduce downtime
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on equipment
Conduct general facility repairs as needed
Disassemble and rebuild equipment or machines for maintenance purposes
Maintain proper documentation of repairs and service activities
Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment when required
Support fabrication, plumbing, and welding tasks as needed
Work safely at heights and around plating or chemical tanks
Qualifications:
Proven hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus
Proficient with hand and power tools, including saws, drills, hoists, and wrenches
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (12v to 480v 3-phase systems)
Familiarity with blueprints, repair manuals, and technical diagrams
Skilled in rebuilding various types of pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, etc.)
Experience with plumbing (CPVC and black iron pipe)
Welding/fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, ARC, torch cutting)
Exposure to robotics (ABB experience a plus)
Competency with shop equipment such as lathes, grinders, and mills
Ability to multitask and manage workload independently
Must supply personal basic hand tools
Comfortable working at heights or on hoists over tanks
