About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our sauce manufacturing facility in Totowa, New Jersey.

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of facility infrastructure by performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks. This is a 3rd shift position, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. 

This position requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions promptly. The technician will be responsible for maintaining plumbing systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical equipment to prevent downtime and extend the life of assets. Additionally, the role involves routine inspections, precision measuring, and carpentry work to uphold facility standards and compliance with safety regulations. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports overall organizational productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems within the facility. 
  • Use precision measuring tools to assess and ensure the accuracy of repairs and installations. 
  • Install, repair, and maintain drywall, carpentry elements, and other building components as needed. 
  • Climb ladders and access confined spaces safely to reach equipment and infrastructure requiring service. 
  • Diagnose mechanical system malfunctions and execute timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used and work performed. 
  • Collaborate with facility management to prioritize maintenance tasks and schedule preventive maintenance. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical repairs. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. 
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor. 
  • Good communication skills with the ability to talk and hear effectively in a work environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or vocational training in maintenance technology or a related field. 
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and advanced carpentry techniques. 
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in facility maintenance. 
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and controls. 
  • First aid and OSHA safety certification.

This is a 3rd shift position and includes shift differential pay.
