Hood Packaging is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Summerville, SC facility. This role is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Perform journeyman-level electrical work in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electromechanical systems.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems across plant equipment.
Work with Operators and Production staff to quickly resolve equipment malfunctions and minimize downtime.
Assist with special projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all safety rules, HACCP, GMPs, Work Instructions, and SQF standards.
Climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces or at heights to access and repair equipment.
Complete accurate documentation, reports, and maintenance logs.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required; two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
3 to 5 years of proven industrial maintenance experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic components, PLC programming, and diagnostic instruments.
Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
Demonstrated ability to work with precision tolerances and safely around high voltage equipment.
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdowns as needed.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with operators and leadership.
Computer proficiency, including PLC operations and reporting.
Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, and climb frequently.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
Normal or corrected vision and hearing required.
Ability to work in hot or cold environments, including outdoors.
