Job Overview:

**Maintenance Technician

**

**Direct Hire | Minneapolis Area | Established Plastics Manufacturer

**

Steady, full-time direct hire with a Minneapolis area manufacturer that has been in business for over 70 years. This is a stable, growing shop with a small, tight-knit crew that works hard and enjoys the work. If you are a hands-on maintenance person who likes fixing things, keeping a line running, and being the go-to problem solver, this is a good home with room to grow.

You will work alongside an experienced maintenance lead who knows the equipment inside and out, so you will get real training and mentorship from day one. This is a great fit for someone who wants to learn, take on more over time, and settle in for the long haul.

**Why This Role, Why Now

**

The current maintenance lead has built deep knowledge of this shop's equipment over many years and is looking for a strong partner to share the load, especially on the more physical side of the work. That means you step into a role where someone is invested in teaching you the machines, the preventive maintenance routines, and the tricks that keep production moving. You are not thrown to the wolves. You are set up to succeed and to grow into a key player on the team.

**About the Company

**

This is an established, ISO 9001:2015 certified custom manufacturer in the Minneapolis area, in business since the 1950s and employee-owned. They build precision plastic and flexible-material parts for OEMs across powersports, marine, agriculture, heavy truck, medical, and industrial markets, using thermoforming, die cutting, CNC routing, and plastic fabrication. They have a strong reputation for quality and on-time delivery, and they have grown steadily by investing in new equipment and their people. Large enough to deliver, small enough to care.

**What You Will Do

**

  • Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical machinery to keep production running.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment on a regular schedule.
  • Use hand tools, bench tools, and welding equipment to repair and improve machines.
  • Fabricate and modify machinery and parts to fix recurring problems and update existing equipment.
  • Read blueprints and wiring schematics to troubleshoot issues.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, and take a proactive approach to spotting and fixing safety issues.
  • Communicate clearly across shifts so the next crew has accurate, complete information.
  • Support cost savings, quality improvements, and productivity gains, and provide training and technical support as needed.

**What You Need

**

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post high school mechanic training or equivalent hands-on work experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery.
  • Welding ability and comfort using hand and bench tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Willingness to keep building your skills over time.

**Physical Requirements

**

  • Standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity.

**What Sets This Apart

**

  • Direct hire from day one, not a temp-to-hire trial.
  • Pay around $35 per hour based on experience.
  • Hands-on training and mentorship from a seasoned maintenance lead.
  • A stable, employee-owned company with 70-plus years in business and a reputation for quality.
  • A small, friendly crew that works hard and actually likes the work.
