Job Overview:

Job Title:  Maintenance Technician - Hoosier Tank and Manufacturing

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday through Thursday (6:00am - 4:30pm) Overtime hours may be required to support business needs.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable industrial maintenance technician with (2-4) years’ experience to ensure the optimal functioning of all equipment and machines at our facility. To be successful as an industrial maintenance technician, you should have a passion for understanding how things work and have sharp senses that help you locate minor faults quickly. An outstanding industrial technician should stay informed on developments and changes in their field. Should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail and always create a safe work environment. A top-notch maintenance technician should be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are always in excellent operating condition.


Primary duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Identifying faulty equipment.
  • Making relevant adjustments to machinery using LOTO when carrying out maintenance tasks in a conservative manner.
  • Communicating problems to staff.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge through refresher training and workshops.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment and working in a team environment.
  • Perform regular inspections of machinery and equipment and carrying out preventative maintenance.


Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

 

  • Must have (1-3) years’ experience using CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) used to streamline repairs and preventative maintenance operations.
  • 2-3 years electrical, carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with electrical systems ranging from 480 – 120vac to 24vac control voltage typically found in a maintenance or construction setting.
  • 3-4 years’ experience operating, maintaining, or programming computers used to control manufacturing processes.
  • 2-3 years reading and interpreting diagrams and schematics such as technical drawings, blueprints, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in one or all the processes of welding/fabricating (Arc, MIG, TIG).
  • 2-3 years’ experience operating a variety of hand and power tools, including the use of mills, lathes, sawing equipment, drill presses, scissor lifts and forklifts.
  • 2-3 years’ experience cleaning, disassembling and rebuilding machines, rigging, moving, positioning and leveling of machines and equipment, and maintaining mechanical systems on machinery.
  • Proper use of fire extinguishers, good housekeeping skills, ordering of parts, restocking part shelves and raw materials racks.


Physical environment/working conditions: 

This position is in a factory setting and involves contact with hard surfaces and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It may also include handling, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
