Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic (Electro-Mechanical)

About the Position
This is a hands-on maintenance role responsible for maximizing equipment uptime across a highly technical manufacturing and R&D environment. You'll support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment while working closely with engineers and production personnel to keep critical operations running smoothly.
The ideal person enjoys solving difficult equipment problems, working across multiple disciplines, and supporting both manufacturing and prototype operations. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of advanced equipment while helping build the maintenance systems that support future company growth.
Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and laboratory equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems
Repair motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, ovens, furnaces, and production equipment
Perform equipment inspections, lubrication, alignment, and calibration activities
Electrical & Controls
Troubleshoot and repair 480V three-phase electrical systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic
Install and maintain motors, VFDs, relays, sensors, contactors, and electrical components
Follow NFPA and Lockout/Tagout safety procedures during all maintenance activities
Automation & Equipment Support
Build and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings (preferred)
Support PLC troubleshooting and modifications as needed
Assist with automation upgrades, sensors, HMIs, and equipment improvements
Work directly with engineering teams on new equipment installations and upgrades
Preventive Maintenance
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend replenishment
Improve maintenance procedures through continuous improvement efforts
Production Support
Support manufacturing and prototype build activities during changing priorities
Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, fabrication, and assembly as needed
Help identify recurring equipment issues affecting production performance
Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability

Experience Requirements
Journeyman certification or 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience reading mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs
Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial mechanical systems
Working knowledge of industrial electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures
Ability to utilize standard electrical diagnostic equipment

Experience building electrical control panels
PLC programming or troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
Experience with industrial automation, robotics, servo systems, or vision systems
Experience with CMMS software
Welding and fabrication experience
Experience supporting prototype or R&D manufacturing environments
