Job Overview:

**MAU is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our client in Smyrna, TN. **As a Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems, to support reliable battery production. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information- B Crew | Weekday Nights | 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

  • D Crew | Weekend Night Shift

Required Education and Experience- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing systems

Preferred Education and Experience- Technical certification from a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT), associate degree, or higher education in a relevant technical field

  • Experience with machine operation, production line work, or maintenance in the automotive, battery, or electronics manufacturing industries
  • Battery manufacturing experience

General Requirements- Proficiency in troubleshooting and modifying Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)

  • Experience with Siemens and Omron PLCs
  • Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, including reading electrical schematics, troubleshooting motor control circuits, and working with low-voltage to 480V, 3-phase electrical systems
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including reading schematics and understanding fluid power concepts
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of industrial robotics, including troubleshooting and teaching robot paths
  • Ability to troubleshoot advanced manufacturing equipment, automation systems, machinery, and robots
  • Willingness and ability to learn software and programming technologies
  • Ability to use data and spreadsheets to document maintenance activities and analyze equipment performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify equipment defects and optimize production processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Effective communication skills for documenting production data and coordinating with team members
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to understand and follow IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards; training and awareness will be provided for candidates unfamiliar with these standards
  • Ability to perform essential job responsibilities efficiently and accurately without creating significant safety risks
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check as a condition of employment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available

Essential Functions- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical problems on battery manufacturing production lines to support efficient and reliable equipment operation.

  • Inspect and maintain production equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with production and process specifications.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment repairs according to established safety and quality procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize production downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot, program, and modify Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) used in manufacturing process automation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, motor control circuits, and industrial manufacturing equipment operating on low-voltage to 480V, 3-phase power.
  • Interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to diagnose equipment malfunctions and support maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and industrial robotics, including teaching robot paths as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service documentation.
  • Communicate project and maintenance task status, including estimated completion times, during maintenance meetings.
  • Follow established workplace safety protocols, equipment maintenance procedures, and quality guidelines.
  • Comply with IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality control, and other cross-functional teams to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and production performance.
  • Analyze maintenance data and equipment performance to identify opportunities for process and reliability improvements.
  • Assist with building and facility repairs and maintenance activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions- Work onsite in a battery manufacturing facility in Smyrna, TN.

  • Perform duties in office environments, on the plant floor, and in meetings with employees, management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment involving production machinery, industrial automation, and robotic equipment.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace safety requirements in a drug-free workplace.

Physical Demands- Ability to sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and reach and lift with hands and arms frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 35 pounds.
