Description

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment following proper safety procedures and standard industry practices.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and equipment.
  • Work with all Supervisors and Leads throughout the plant.
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform high level mechanic-based skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair throughout the entire facility
  • Experience working with electrical circuits, including 110v – 480v, single phase – 3 phase a must.
  • Ability to read electrical meter; ohms, amperes and volts
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Understanding and ability to work with boiler, hot water heaters, and circulating pumps as they relate to steam and hot water heating
  • Perform inspection, maintenance and repair on natural gas and propane heaters throughout the plant
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules, LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hazard Communications, etc.
  • Possess leadership skills and ability to train and assign work duties to employees within the department as directed by supervision/management
  • Work full time, Monday through Friday with frequent Saturday work
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Contribute to company morale and group commitment to goals
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervision

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of proper use, installation, repair and maintenance of equipment used in concrete production work.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly, 40 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat and cold
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and work on platforms and in high places
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements

Work Context

  • Regularly works near moving objects and in climate conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete
  • Noise levels vary within facility. Hearing protection may be required in loud areas
  • Occasionally required to wear fall protection equipment and/or half mask respirator
  • Safety/Steel toe boots, hard hats and safety glasses required
