Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures equipment is operating properly by performing preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades to provide minimal equipment downtime or loss of production
Completes assigned preventative maintenance tasks on schedule according to performance standards
Understands project requirements and works to complete task with a high level of quality and workmanship in a timely manner
Maintains coating system operation components to a high level of performance with minimal or no downtime
Regularly and effectively communicates activities and projects to supervisor
Assists in the development and upgrade of process equipment
Stays abreast of new methods and procedures learning new skills as needed and makes recommendations to improve processes and/or equipment
Monitors equipment operations to maintain proper operation levels of performance. Repairs and replaces as needed.
All electrical equipment and controls work appropriately with minimal downtime
All related maintenance and/or repairs are documented in the proper logs and spreadsheets
Develop necessary skills to repair compressors, cryo pumps, e-beam guns and other specialized coating equipment
Education & Experience
Associates or technical degree in a mechanical field preferred or equivalent work experience
Skills
Must be able to understand and operate all coating equipment
Must work well with all operators, supervisors and engineers to support customer needs
Listens and responds to issues and concerns presented by the department
Skilled in all mechanical applications including electric, plumbing, welding/sottering, metal working, mechanical tools, test instruments and general repairs
Proficient use of MS office programs
Strong “hands on” mechanical abilities
Must communicate with various operators, vendors, suppliers, and engineers
Requires flexibility in work schedule including extended hours, weekends, holidays and cell phone coverage as necessary to support a 24/7 operation
Good understanding of high vacuum practices
Requires high concentration levels with high attention to detail
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8. U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State."
Working Conditions
Generally, in a clean room environment
Works with small to large equipment, high voltage and exposure to low level radioactive materials and other hazardous chemicals
Physical Requirements
Must be able to wear a full-face respirator. Must be clean shaven.

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and COHERENT Corporate EHS standards.
This position is subject to a pre-employment physical evaluation associated with wearing a respirator.
This position must under-go annual physical evaluations associated with respirator use
