Position Title: Maintenance Technician (all shifts)

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

As a Maintenance Technician you will be part of a team responsible for the inspection, repair, and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and facilities within our organization. This role is essential in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and preventing downtime through regular maintenance activities. In this role you will execute routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance of all equipment within the facility. The ideal candidate is well-rounded, having experience and multi-craft skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics as well as general facility maintenance. You are also a team player – driven by pride in your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Maintenance:- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, systems, and facilities according to established procedures and checklists.

    • Inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage, or malfunctions.
  2. Repairs and Troubleshooting:- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and troubleshoot issues to identify the root cause.

    • Carry out necessary repairs and replacements to restore functionality.
  3. Equipment Adjustment:- Make adjustments to machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

    • Fine-tune settings to meet operational requirements.
  4. Facility Maintenance:- Conduct maintenance tasks related to the physical facility, such as plumbing, HVAC systems, lighting, and general repairs.

    • Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs or services.
  5. Safety Compliance:- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance activities.

    • Report and address safety hazards promptly.
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner, following Company work rules and policies, including cGMP(s)
  6. Documentation:- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections utilizing our CMMS system as needed.

    • Update equipment manuals and documentation as needed.
  7. Inventory Management:- Keep track of spare parts and consumables inventory.

    • Coordinate with planning/procurement for the timely acquisition of necessary supplies.
  8. Collaboration:- Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to address maintenance issues.

    • Provide support to production teams during equipment changeovers or modifications.
  9. Training and Development:- Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in maintenance practices.

    • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  10. Emergency Response:- Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly and implement temporary solutions to minimize downtime.

    • Collaborate with other teams to address critical issues affecting operations.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical education or certifications in maintenance-related fields are a plus.
  • Experience: 7 – 10 years in a maintenance role, demonstrating proficiency in repairing and maintaining equipment (examples; automated pkg equipment, mixing systems, ovens)
  • Skills: Strong multi-discipline mechanical/electrical aptitude and skills, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Safety: Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in industrial settings.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting issues.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment. Able to work on off shifts and/or weekends as required.
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough and meticulous in performing inspections and maintenance tasks.

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, climbing, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to work on feet. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so safely with extreme care and caution.
