Job Overview:

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Bakery Warehouse)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to support operations in a fast-paced bakery warehouse environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing or industrial maintenance and a strong background in preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on bakery production equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, slicers, and automated packaging systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Lead and execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure
  • Respond to equipment failures with urgency and implement long-term corrective solutions
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and calibration of new equipment and production lines
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory using CMMS
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with production and leadership teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Mentor and support junior maintenance staff as needed
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certification strongly preferred
  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a bakery, food manufacturing, or industrial production environment
  • Strong knowledge of bakery equipment and automated production systems preferred
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical (including PLCs), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Experience with CMMS and maintenance tracking systems
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as GMP and HACCP

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in hot environments (ovens), noisy areas, and around food production equipment
