We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to  support the achievement of SPM’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience 
  • Electrical experience desired
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Must have own tools

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of CNC, electrical or electro-mechanical machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems common to sheet metal production equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions using diagrams, equipment manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments as required.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspection or measurement using calipers, micrometers or other suitable measuring equipment. Makes adjustments to functional devices or control instruments with appropriate hand tools Checks electrical devices use to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand truck or forklift
  • Follows all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements and other safety regulations, trains others as required.
  • Maintains plant and equipment so that it is in compliance with SPM standards                         
  • Always restores equipment to proper and safe operations. Maintains minimum downtime, by informing manufacturing associates of upcoming preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for checking equipment to ensure it meets functional operation and safety prior to release to operations. Raise quality issues to the next level if quality or safety is compromised.
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machine
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled and preventative maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
