Description

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician I, you will maintain all production equipment and other physical assets of the facility and provide technical support and mechanical abilities to others as assigned. The schedule for this position is either 7am -3pm or 3pm to 11pm, Monday thru Friday, with possible overtime.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal operating condition throughout the plant.
  • Utilize problem solving skills to maintain productivity, quality and safety on all equipment.
  • Communicate the proper care and maintenance of equipment to production personnel.
  • Report irregularities to appropriate leadership.
  • Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
  • Document all repairs in the maintenance repair request program.
  • Report machine parts and items needed by/for other departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess good mechanical knowledge and abilities to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Must have welding and fabrication skills for design/build projects and equipment repairs.
  • Knowledge of shop tools, equipment and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Must successfully complete any training or certification courses required to support or strengthen position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist and waist to shoulder height.
  • Able to work in static positions for more than 15 minutes and work in tight spaces in and around machinery.
  • Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
  • May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
  • May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
  • May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance setting is preferred.
