Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production, processing, and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports manufacturing and distribution activities by minimizing downtime and maintaining compliance with safety and food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, refrigeration, and material-handling equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Repair and maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, compressors, valves, and other industrial equipment
- Support maintenance of facility systems including HVAC, boilers, plumbing, lighting, and compressed air systems
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time
- Follow all safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to prioritize maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment is a plus
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in cold, wet, or refrigerated environments
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when required
