About the Role:

As a Maintenance Tech at Oskaloosa Foods Products Corp (OFPC), your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing any mechanical or electrical issues that may arise. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential in identifying potential problems and implementing preventive measures. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting maintenance activities and keeping accurate records of equipment performance. Ultimately, your contribution will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and facilities, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of the production line.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement preventive maintenance measures.
Document maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment performance, to maintain accurate records.
Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to address maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or certification in a relevant field, such as industrial maintenance or electrical engineering.
Experience with food processing equipment.
Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Ability to visually interpret instructions, operate machines and inspect parts
Able to work on foot for extended periods of time
Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 lbs
Ability to reach, stretch, bend and stoop throughout working shift
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to enter confined spaces (port-holes) in tanks to performs cleaning and inspection tasks (if applicable)
Ability to work in various temperatures (varies from cool to moderate/hot) including occasional high humidity

5:30am-4:00pm M-F Saturday rotation. Overtime hours available (up to 50 hours per week).
