Job Overview:

Hours: F - M, 6am - 4:30pm

Pay: $24 - $28 / hour

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for learning how to diagnosis, troubleshoot, and repair of all facets of the manufacturing facility. The person in this role must be self-driven to perform preventative maintenance and continual improvements.

  • Learn Powell’s equipment and facility

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the following areas: machine controls, pump systems, motor systems, etc. using testing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in voltage control circuits and systems using basic circuit design knowledge and testing equipment.

  • Maintain and improve preventative maintenance program

  • Perform in-house service requests in a timely manner

  • Operate heavy machinery: skyjacks, forklifts, boom lifts, threading machines, saws, etc.

  • Perform basic weld, fabrication, drywall, painting, plumbing, conduit, and HVAC repairs

  • Manage shop waste streams- monitor and ship out shop waste as required

  • Test security and fire system operations

  • Maintain parking lots and walkways

  • Read, write, and understand ladder logic

  • Adhere to all company policies and OSHA rules.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 2 years’ in a maintenance role preferred

  • Ability to climb up and down and work from a ladder

  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs

  • Must be self-driven and able to drive organizational change

  • Must work well in a team environment

  • Must be willing to learn and perform with minimal direction

  • Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge

  • Must have basic computer skills: Microsoft Suite

  • Must be fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Learn policies and procedures, work instructions, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and vendor products.

  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Electrical Repair
