Maintenance Tech

Direct Hire | 1sy shift | $29-31/hr.

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at a high-volume** mill** facility. This 1st shift position plays a critical role in maintaining and improving equipment reliability to ensure maximum production efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of paper mill machinery, including pumps, motors, conveyors, rollers, dryers, and control systems.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly and accurately.

• Maintain and repair industrial equipment including gearboxes, bearings, and high-pressure systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support repairs and installations.

• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and plant policies.

• Track maintenance activities and update maintenance logs or CMMS systems.

• Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and facility improvement projects.

• Communicate effectively with production and management to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a paper mill or heavy manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems, electrical circuits (up to 480V), and PLC-based controls.

• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG/stick) is a strong plus.

• Must be able to work from heights, in tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
