Description

Summary:

This position entails maintaining facility services and equipment throughout Dwyer. Responsibilities include filter replacements, landscaping, painting carpentry, assembly & installation of new equipment, and troubleshooting equipment issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects building, equipment, and systems for any issues
  • Receives work orders and executes assigned maintenance requests. 
  • Responds to calls concerning building systems.
  • Relocates equipment, pallet racks, furniture, etc.
  • Replaces HVAC and Humidifier Filters.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
  • Repairs broken or leaking plumbing, piping, fixtures
  • Perform painting, staining, carpentry, & drywall repairs
  • Find and repair potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Ability to handle basic repairs around the building
  • Grounds keeping: lawn and other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
  • Communicates with the supervisor for parts and supplies needed.
  • Completes all tasks with high standards of quality and appearance. 
  • Performs tasks with efficiency and organization.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems. 
  • Ensures safety of equipment and personnel
  • Communicates with Manager and Supervisor concerning maintenance problems. Works with other maintenance department staff on projects.
  • Able to perform other general maintenance projects as requested.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked

Requirements

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with three years of experience
  • Maintenance qualification certificate or equivalent
  • Proven work experience as a maintenance technician
  • Familiarity with commercial and industrial maintenance systems
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods of time, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling
  • Able to write reports as required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and vendors.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure safe installations.

Working Conditions:

Requires visual concentration, dexterity, and precision. Required to lift and carry heavy objects; required to stand for prolonged periods; required to work at heights. Occasionally required to wear protective clothing. On call for maintenance emergencies. May require travel between work sites.
