Maintenance M & E Technician ensures all equipment is running smoothly through regular planned maintenance and repair of all types of manufacturing equipment. Will be called on to fix issues as part of a team with, machine operators, supervisors or independently. This position is for second or third shift.
Essential Duties
- Follow all required safe working practices. This includes, but is not limited to, wearing all required PPE, lockout-tagout, chemical handling, working at height, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, processing equipment, and facilities.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
- Troubleshooting and testing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings
- Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at facility as required.
- Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and in a timely manner
- Complete required daily paperwork, document parts and material usage
- Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks on time, maintaining high quality standards.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Communicate across shifts, departments, and management regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production lines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- 2 years of experience in a maintenance environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend as required for task.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in the use of shop equipment such as welders, hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, and assorted power tools
Preferred Experience
- Basic knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Knowledge of Fluid Power - pneumatic, hydraulic, pumps, valves
- Knowledge of Power Transmission – gear, sprockets, chains, pullies, drive belts
- Experience working with high voltage (480V)
- Variable frequency drive (VFD)
- Sensors: photo eyes, level, pressure, flow, and proximity
- Smaller air cylinders, grippers, linear air slides
- Troubleshoot automated systems
