Job Overview:

Emerald Steel Processing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Madison Heights, Michigan. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Inspect machinery and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Maintain and repair forklifts, conveyors, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stand, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Must have Forklift operating experience

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable attendance and transportation required.
