Job Summary:
The Maintenance Department supports all company production machinery, plant equipment, office equipment, and plant structures. Support includes installation, relocation, modification, and preventive and remedial maintenance to ensure efficient plant and machinery operation for quality product with a minimum downtime.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with Allen Press, Inc. team values.
2. Installation, relocation, modification, preventative and remedial maintenance of production machinery, minimizing down time.
3. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production machinery, plant equipment and office equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and testing.
4. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems and repair and/or replace defective components.
5. Assist in installation, relocation, and modifications of plant equipment.
6. Maintain plant support equipment, including pressurized air and vacuum, plumbing, electrical systems, materials handling equipment, and selected office equipment.
7. Perform miscellaneous preventive maintenance and minor repair to roofs, walls, doors, etc.
8. Perform woodworking tasks, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing abilities involving demolition, remodeling, and construction.
9. Maintain lighting, elevators, dock equipment, partial HVAC systems, and other structural components.
10. Work as department lead on a daily basis.
11. Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician, and serves as backup in their absence, assuming responsibility for work assignments for the department.
12. Coordinate routine preventative maintenance schedules with department supervisors.
13. Interact with OEM personnel to obtain technical information, ordering replacement parts, and machine installation as necessary.
14. Ability to properly operate a motor vehicle for company transport.
Non-Essential Functions:
1. Perform other duties as assigned which could include but not be limited to assisting work areas with minor production work.

Experience/Qualifications:
1. Previous supervisory experience in a production atmosphere preferred
2. Candidate work history must reflect experience in maintenance position in an industrial environment with an emphasis in electronics.
3. High mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitudes required.
4. Experience with pneumatic technology required.
5. Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing preferred.
6. Understanding and proficiency in reading schematics, logic diagrams, and proper usage of test equipment in electronic troubleshooting required.
7. Proven ability to read basic blueprints required.
8. Proven understanding of safety regulations and knowledge of lock out tag out.
9. Knowledgeable in usage and correct operation of common hand and power tools, ship tools and machines (including drill press, end mill, grinders, and welders).
10. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments required.
11. A working knowledge of the various chemicals, tools and janitorial equipment is preferred.
12. Advanced mechanical knowledge and experience with industrial machinery required.
13. Requires extensive knowledge in industrial, electrical, and electronics, including digital and analog
electronics, methodology of electronic diagnosis, and proficiency in the use of all test equipment.
14. High school or high school equivalent preferred.
15. Formal training in electronics preferred.
16. Candidate must furnish own toolbox and hand tools, both standard and metric (AP furnishes power tools and test instruments).
17. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable on the company policy.
Cognitive/Physical Requirements:
1. Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
2. Manual dexterity is necessary.
3. Must be able to use hand jack and motorized stocking machinery.
4. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, bend, stoop and push carts.
5. Must be able to reach above head level, stand on feet most of the day and lift.
6. Must be able to travel from one building to another when necessary
7. Demonstrate self-motivation, reliability, and dependability.
8. Must possess eye for detail and willingness to follow direction.
9. Must possess a high degree of safety consciousness due to potential exposure hazards from chemicals and lethal voltages.
10. Good communication skills are required to interact with co-workers in a cooperative and effective manner in order to determine symptoms of malfunction.
11. Must be able to read, write legibly and have good communication skills in order to interact with co-workers throughout the facilities.
12. Must be able to read and comprehend written work instructions.
13. Must have tolerance to various cleaning chemicals.

15. Ability to adjust schedule as necessary to complete essential tasks.
16. Must be willing to work extended-hours and/or weekend work shifts, if necessary.
17. Must think logically, use common sense and retain important information.
18. Ability to problem solve and determine root cause for malfunctioning equipment.
19. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
