Maintenance Technician

• Manufacturing / Recycling Facility
• West Indianapolis (Avon)
• $41.98 p/h
• 2nd or 3rd Shift Available | 8 hours

Key Duties

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to support continuous production.
• Install new machinery and carry out routine servicing and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical equipment and conduit.
• Perform electrical preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Use electrical testing equipment to diagnose faults and verify equipment operation.
• Repair processing equipment, including pumps, piping, conveyors, and other moving machinery.
• Perform welding, steel repairs, and fabrication of specialist items as required.
• Complete simple to intermediate equipment and pipe installations.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to support maintenance and installation work.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, free of debris.
• Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Preferred

• 3–5 years of recent industrial or related experience in millwright work or machine repair.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, troubleshooting ability, and time-management skills.
• Must pass welding, mechanical, and electrical aptitude skills tests.
• Experience working with 120V, 277V, and 480V equipment.
• Arc flash training and knowledge of conduit installation.
• Knowledge of different metal properties and their applications.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work while wearing a respirator and in high-heat conditions.
• Must be able to work any shift.

Please Note: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in some areas of the work environment requires ear protection. Employee must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
