Description

Summary Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in the repair and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and electrical systems.

Essential Duties

  • Assists in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of malfunction
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments and repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Starts devices to test performance
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
  • Uses both power and hand tools
  • Assists in repairs to electrical equipment
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous maintenance experience a plus

  • Prolonged periods of walking and standing and performing repetitive tasks

  • Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs; occasionally lifting/carrying objects up to 100 lbs with assistance
