Job Overview:

Job Summary:

Assists, under direct supervision, in the repair and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, injection molding production machines, auxiliary equipment and facilities by performing the following duties.

Summary of Essential Functions:

· Position requires the ability to work, initially with direct supervision, and respond to requests for assistance from internal customers.

· Learns and applies knowledge towards performing Repairs and PMs on equipment as required.

· Observes, inspects and listens to machines and equipment to learn to locate causes of trouble as required to keep equipment up to specifications.

· Exercises initiative to correct and prevent problems through machine adjustments and safety checks.

· Maintains records related to machine and facility maintenance including water systems and auxiliary equipment.

· Recommends improvements and participates in company sponsored training.

· Learns the skills necessary to set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

· Learns to read and interpret prints and diagrams in order to initiate purchase order requisitions for parts and machines.

· Under direct supervision assists in the Repair of electrical equipment.

· Operates fork lift, machinery moving and snow removal equipment as required.

· Employee is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.

· As a representative and employee of Quantum Plastics, personal dress (appropriate for the job), hygiene and professional behavior in a team environment are essential.

· Personal Protective Equipment, as required, must be used in the performance of the job.

· Minimize damage and spillage of waste and responsibly clean up and dispose of all waste that may affect the environment.

Minimum Requirements:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

· Job duties in plant environment exposed to high temperatures, noise, dust, odors, oils, high pressure systems, electrical voltages, etc.

· Requires manual dexterity to perform a variety of tasks.

· Tasks require lifting, standing, bending, crawling, pulling, pushing, climbing, reaching, and visual acuity in the performance of the job.

  • Heavy Equipment Repair
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Forklift Licensed
  • Industrial Electrical Experience
  • Injection Molding Experience
