Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support plant-wide mechanical maintenance operations in a heavy industrial environment. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.
The Maintenance Mechanic performs hands-on mechanical work across the facility, supporting production uptime and equipment reliability. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, welding knowledge, and the ability to work safely in demanding industrial conditions.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions
Install, assemble, align, test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment throughout the plant
Maintain and repair conveyors, hoists, lifts, power shafting, pulleys, and related equipment
Dismantle, move, install, and commission machinery and mechanical systems
Perform field fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling, bending, burning, and framing modifications
Conduct inspections and alignment of plant equipment
Utilize hoists, cranes (overhead and mobile), rollers, dollies, and hand tools safely and effectively
Maintain welding capabilities to support equipment repairs
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Work scheduled shifts as assigned
This is a physically demanding industrial role requiring:
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, twisting, and balancing
Work at heights and in confined spaces (respirator use may be required)
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
Repetitive hand and wrist movements
Use of both arms above and below shoulder level
Ability to work extended periods in the same position
Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions
Industrial manufacturing plant setting
Exposure to moderate to extreme climate conditions
Confined spaces and elevated work areas
Fast-paced environment with production demands
Strong mechanical maintenance background in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Working knowledge of welding and fabrication
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment
Commitment to workplace safety and PPE compliance
Personal Protective Equipment required includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and respirator when necessary.
