Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer in **Farwell, MI **that produces precision-engineered components for the automotive, aerospace, defense, heavy truck, performance engine, agriculture, and marine industries.

This **Industrial Maintenance Technician **role is a **full-time, direct-hire opportunity **(not contract or temp). The position is responsible for machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to support production uptime and equipment reliability.

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and improvement of all machinery, including guarding, CNC benders, end formers, welders, stamping presses, and other various equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshoot/repair equipment to support continuous production flow. (This includes taking measurements, making adjustments, replacing worn-out parts, and calibration)

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues, including multi-system failures.

  • Maintain tooling, repair setup problems, and conduct first- and last-piece checks to verify setup.

  • Conduct inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs,

    including shift reports, work order completion, and item consumption.

  • Maintain a clean and functional work area.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and procedures.

  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.

  • Must be able to work safely.

  • Must have a mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to perform mechanical repairs on equipment & buildings.

  • Competent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform minor electrical repairs.

  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and all facets of machine repair.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others.

  • Computer skills.

  • Must be able to work on ladders with various height levels.

  • Drive a forklift.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts if necessary.
