Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for working on electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics. They are skilled in a variety of areas including reading of schematics, and general drawings, repair of machinery, knowledgeable in lock-out, tag out procedure and other duties such as general maintenance of toilets to wiring motors on bridge cranes, press brakes, saws, ironworkers, welders etc.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Effectively work at a safe and productive pace while keeping up with the work load
• Properly follow instructions when received in both written and verbal format
• Efficiently work by the priority list
• Follow all safety rules at all times
• Make quality repairs to all equipment being repaired and/or maintained
• Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)

• Other duties as assigned by management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to work scheduled shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week
• Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates
• Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

• Properly and accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16”
• Forklift maintenance background/experience (10+ years preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years background in all facets of maintenance work (mfg preferred)
• Above average attendance record and remain consistently punctual
• Effectively follow direction when received in written and verbal format
• Work schedule shifts
• Accurately read basic blue prints and schematics
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license
• Cannot be considered a high risk driver per our Company requirements
• Must be able to work alone without constant supervision

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must show the ability to be punctual and follow all Company Safety and personnel policy directives while on the job.
• Holds basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics, reading schematics and prints, as well as tape measures and other measuring devices.
• Has a valid South Carolina Driver License and meet Company’s Authorized Drivers Policy and Insurance Requirements.
• Demonstrates safe operation of hand, air powered and electrical tools.
• Possesses good time management skills.
• Cooperates in working extra hours, if needed.
• Machine shop skills are a plus, but not required.
