Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will support daily facility and equipment maintenance operations in our precision sheet metal manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring production equipment and building systems are operating efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, a proactive attitude, and experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems (e.g., CNC machines, laser cutters, press brakes, welders, HVAC, air compressors, lighting, plumbing, etc.).

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize production downtime.
    • Monitor and maintain building infrastructure, including doors, lighting, restrooms, and general repairs.
    • Support installation and relocation of production equipment and facility upgrades as directed.
  • **Work Order Management **- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and prioritize tasks based on production needs.

    • Record maintenance activities accurately and consistently in maintenance logs.
    • Assist with tracking and maintaining inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Safety & Compliance- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations when performing maintenance tasks.

    • Support internal safety initiatives by identifying hazards and reporting unsafe conditions.
    • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and ensure tools are stored properly.
    • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with company policy and environmental standards.
    • Assist in maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure adherence to hazardous materials handling procedures and training.
  • Team Support- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support manufacturing operations.

    • Assist in projects such as equipment moves, renovations, or repairs under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
    • Provide support to external contractors when required.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities or equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational certification preferred.

  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a production setting.

  • Familiarity with precision metal fabrication equipment is a plus. Familiarity with OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and preventive maintenance best practices.

  • Sills & Competencies- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
    • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, maintenance software).
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • **Work Environment & Physical Requirements **- Requires working in both office and production environments with exposure to fabrication equipment, mechanical systems, and facility infrastructure.

    • Must perform physical tasks, including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
    • Requires standing or walking for extended periods in varying conditions (e.g., hot/cold, noisy areas).
    • Frequent collaboration with production, engineering, quality, and management teams.
  • Schedule- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday (Some flexibility may be required based on production needs).

  • Compensation- Hourly Range: $20-25 per hour
