Golden Cannoli is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Chelsea, MA. This hands-on role is responsible for keeping our food manufacturing equipment and facility running safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment setup, and fabrication. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with production equipment, and a safety-first mindset. Experience with electrical systems, welding, machining, CMMS, and food manufacturing environments is a plus.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

**

• Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all applicable food safety standards. 

• Follow safe work practices at all times, including proper use of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. 

• Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment; perform preventive maintenance (PM) and equipment overhauls as scheduled. 

• Operate shop tools and equipment, including cutting, grinding, drill press, welding, and basic machining, to complete repairs and fabrication tasks. 

• Perform work on electric motors and controls, as qualified. 

• Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to complete work orders, document completed work, and request parts. 

• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to guide repair and maintenance work. 

• Perform assigned duties in both indoor and outdoor settings under varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and wet or humid conditions. 

**PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

**

• Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including both heated and refrigerated areas. 

• Ability to walk safely on wet or slippery surfaces. 

• Ability to climb small ladders or platforms. 

• Ability to use small hand tools for equipment assembly and repair.

• Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity, including holding and grasping.

• Adequate vision and depth perception to safely perform job duties.

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and to push or pull up to 500 lbs. 

• Ability to walk or stand for 100% of the scheduled shift.

• Must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for employment at Golden Cannoli. 

• Availability for extended hours based on production needs, including after regular business hours and on weekends. 

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION 

**

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• Technical college education, or two years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing-related field, preferred. 

• Solid mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently at production pace. 

• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. 

• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and write in English. 

• Ability to support management decisions and contribute to a positive, professional work environment. 

• Working knowledge of Golden Cannoli's safety procedures, and adherence to them at all times. 

• Familiarity with department safe food handling practices, HACCP principles, and quality control procedures.
