PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a skilled Maintenance Technician I to support a global leader in nutrition science dedicated to helping people live healthier lives through high-quality nutritional products. In this hands-on role, you'll play a critical part in maintaining and improving the equipment that keeps production running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician I, you'll be responsible for both preventive and reactive maintenance across manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment uptime and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and repair activities on production equipment and facility systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.

  • Service and maintain equipment including:

    • Blenders

    • Scales

    • Bottle rinsers, fillers, cappers, and labelers

    • Check weighers

    • Case erectors and sealers

    • Palletizers

    • Stretch wrappers

    • AC/DC motors and drives

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measurement devices, and electrical testing equipment.

  • Serve as the first responder for machine troubleshooting and escalate to Electrical & Controls Technicians when necessary.

  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks accurately within CMMS systems.

  • Coordinate replacement parts and control component needs through the Parts Clerk.

  • Partner with production teams to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.

  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities for corrective and preventive maintenance.

  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on safety, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Mentor maintenance trainees, operators, and team members by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support.

  • Follow and promote all safety, quality, GMP, and operational standards.

  • Support daily management initiatives and plant performance objectives.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience

  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment.

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills.

Technical Knowledge

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment such as:

    • Voltmeters

    • Ammeters

    • Ohm meters

    • Meggers

  • Ability to read and interpret:

    • Electrical schematics

    • Mechanical drawings

    • Pneumatic diagrams

  • Knowledge of:

    • Lockout/Tagout procedures

    • Arc Flash and PPE requirements

    • Three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution

    • Electrical formulas and mechanical math

    • AC/DC drives and motor troubleshooting

    • PLC I/O troubleshooting and networking

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have own hand tools.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.

  • English literacy required (reading and writing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical schooling in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.

  • Basic PLC and drive training.

  • Knowledge of NEC standards.

  • Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA 79 codes.

  • Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP.

  • Experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or processing environments.

  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs.

  • Experience with dry powder filling equipment.

  • Motion control experience with servo drives and motors.

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operation experience.

  • Spanish language skills.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $40.00 per hour
