Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3pm – 11pm

**Pay: **$26.00–$42.00/hr, depending on experience and classification

Schedule: Monday–Friday with some weekend work currently required

Location: Ashtabula, OH

Position Overview

A rubber & plastics manufacturing company I am representing in the Ashtabula, OH area are looking to add3-4 maintenance technicians to their maintenance team, with the immediate need focused primarily on 2nd shift.

The ideal candidate will have a** strong industrial electrical background** combined with broader mechanical maintenance experience. This is a hands-on position supporting production equipment, troubleshooting breakdowns and helping minimize downtime across the facility.

New hires will typically train on 1st shift before transitioning to the permanent 2nd-shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.

•Diagnose electrical faults across production machinery and control systems.

•Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment to identify equipment and process faults.

•Use PLCs for diagnostics and troubleshooting; programming experience is not required, as programming is handled in-house.

•Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps and general production equipment.

•Perform preventative and reactive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.

•Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams and equipment documentation.

•Identify root causes of equipment failures and complete repairs safely and efficiently.

•Work closely with production and other maintenance personnel during breakdowns.

•Follow established plant safety and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

•Previous industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

•Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting capabilities.

•Hands-on experience with motors, pumps and production machinery.

•Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.

•Ability to read and understand ladder logic.

•Experience connecting to and navigating Allen-Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 500 and/or 5000) for troubleshooting purposes.

•Ability to trace faults through PLC programs and identify the source of equipment issues.

•Mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.

•Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.

•Comfortable working 2nd shift following the initial training period.

•Flexibility to support some weekend work when required.

Compensation

The maintenance department operates across A, B and C technician classifications, determined by experience and technical skill level.

Pay Range: $26.00–$42.00/hr, depending on experience and classification.
