Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel property. This role performs routine preventative maintenance and responds promptly to guest service requests, maintenance issues, and emergency repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests and work orders
- Inspect rooms and common areas for safety hazards, needed repairs, and code compliance
- Conduct minor repairs including painting, drywall, fixtures, appliances, doors, locks, and flooring
- Maintain boilers, water heaters, air‑conditioning units, and ventilation systems as assigned
- Assist with room turns and preventative inspections to meet brand and quality standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools, chemicals, and personal protective equipment
- Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted services when needed
- Participate in on‑call or emergency response coverage, including nights, weekends, or holidays as required
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous hotel, apartment, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance practices
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer‑service mindset with professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license (if required for the property)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Capability to use ladders and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Schedule
- Full‑time / Part‑time
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
