Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance II  

Perform measurable and successful mechanical work, maintenance, rebuild services, and on-going repairs to the various machines throughout the plant 

Create plan to reduce machine downtime by appropriately prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks 

Create machine log for down time while working and repairing unit 

Review daily plan for machine issues each day to reduce bottlenecks in the process 

Responsible for overall repair and/or rebuild needed on shop machines 

Rebuild -- taking specific machines of the line for worn out or modification maintenance 

Rebuild parts for various machines 

Provide adequate floor coverage and visibility - day to day maintenance of machines 

Participate as a member of the P.M. Crew -- preventive/predictive maintenance procedures 

Assist with electrical work, as deemed safe and within guidelines  

Understand and repair electrical components of machines and plant 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Boiler Operator  

Operate, start up, and shut down boiler based on Standard Work Procedures and following all legal requirements of boiler operation  

Ensure compliance of appropriate boiler operation, process, and reporting 

Maintain the steam pressure, air pressure and hydraulic pressure needed to correctly cure tires, heat oil and heat the plant and the operation of plant equipment 

Maintain log book each day for possible problems to resolve 

Monitor compressors, add lubrication oil, and check crank case level 

Report temperatures of the air compressor and cooling water level 

Ensure lubricators are functional to insure proper operation  

Regularly check conductivity of boiler water 

Knowledgeable of all boiler measurements including conductivity of water, temperatures, etc  

Knowledgeable working order of boiler operations to ensure compliance and boiler operation standards are met

  • Apply common sense to carrying out instructions and procedures  

  • Use problem-solving skills to deal with issues in process as they arise 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: All Maintenance Employees 

  • The employee should have the following: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 

  • Applicants seeking GED: Enroll in our GED Ready program to help you get a GED while working 

  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not required, candidate will be trained for this position in-house 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality goals 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: All Maintenance Employees

  • Work safely around continuous moving mechanical parts 

  • Work in a hot environment while meeting production rates 

  • Be exposed to a noisy environment and comfortable with PPE requirements 

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for 8-12 hour shifts 

  • Be comfortable standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, leaning, and working around rotating equipment  

  • Be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.  

  • Ability to push/pull 50-150 lbs. on a wheeled cart; static push/pull: 20 lbs.  

  • Ability to stoop, stand, squat, and move at a continuous pace for 8+ hours/day 

  • Pinch minimum 6 lbs. 

  • Grasp minimum 35 lbs. 

  • Full range of motion required:  cervical, shoulders, elbow, wrist, fingers, hands, truck twist, and feet 

  • Working Conditions:  moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, static shock, burns, go up heights, odors, dust, protrusions, narrow access, good vision and hearing 

  • Any lifting over 70 lbs. must be completed with assistance through mechanical or individual associate 

  • Certain tasks and positions required a Fork Lift Certification
