Job Description

**Purpose and Description: **

To quickly and correctly repair and maintain all production shop equipment. To optimize cycle times, make adjustments and to perform preventive maintenance.

**Major Responsibilities: **

• Maintenance and repair (both mechanical and electrical/electronic) of manual and CNC machines used in a production environment

Machines include CNC tube benders, mills, lasers and six axis welding robots, manual mills and tube benders, punch, forming, brake and drill presses, end formers, saws and cutoff equipment

• Troubleshoot problems
• Preventive maintenance
• Safety and environmental implementation, including lockout/tagout, chemicals- storage and disposal, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exits and signs, wash tanks, environmental logs, fresh water readings and recording
• Diagnosis of problems, development of repair plan, communication of estimated repair time, work with scheduling the repair, prioritization amongst all machines, status updates and completion communication

** Other Responsibilities: **

• Order parts, secure additional equipment and/or assistance needed to perform fast and cost efficient repair and maintenance

• Record keeping (documentation of repairs, purchase orders, inspection logs)

• Facility/building maintenance (electric boiler with heat pump system, closed loop cooling system, make-up air heat exchanger and cooling towers, roof top fans and duct work, runoff water maintenance and direction)

• Coordinate forklift and crane maintenance and repairs with outside vendors

• Coordinate hazardous waste disposal

• Other duties as assigned
