Job Overview:

The Maintenance Lead oversees a team of approximately 10 - 15 maintenance technicians, ensuring the effective operation, repair, and upkeep of equipment, facilities, and systems. This role blends technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to maintain safety, efficiency, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support maintenance staff; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
  • Maintenance Operations: Coordinate and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Organize daily work schedules, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent repair needs.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment status.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift (10 pm - 6 am Sunday night through Friday morning).

Qualifications**

  • Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required (preference for high-volume manufacturing or injection molding).
  • Previous leadership or lead technician experience (must have led or directed others) required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required in: Injection molding machines; Automation systems; Mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret the following is required: Technical manuals; Blueprints; Electrical and mechanical schematics; Ladder logic.
  • Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office, CMMS, or maintenance software).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively is required.
  • Technical degree or equivalent technical certifications preferred.
  • Specialized training in automation or controls, and experience with Auxiliary equipment (compressors, chillers, dryers, etc.); Material handling systems; and Fanuc robots (programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance) preferred.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate equipment performance and develop long-term maintenance strategies preferred.
