Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support our maintenance team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our packaging operations.

The ideal candidate will combine strong mechanical expertise with leadership skills, focusing on troubleshooting complex equipment and material interface issues while mentoring a skilled team.

This position is approximately 80% supervisory and 20% hands-on.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of 7 maintenance mechanics
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and operational issues
• Troubleshoot interactions between machinery and packaging materials
• Support maintenance team with advanced problem-solving beyond routine repairs
• Train and develop internal maintenance staff
• Ensure optimal performance of both automated and manual production equipment
• Oversee maintenance of specialized systems including:
• Labeling equipment
• Tube filling machines
• Cellophane overwrapping systems
• Work with European-manufactured machinery (primarily Siemens PLC systems)
• Collaborate with production to minimize downtime and improve efficiency

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
• Proven ability to solve unfamiliar and complex technical problems
• Working knowledge of PLC systems (troubleshooting level; programming not required)
• Experience in a related industry such as:
• Personal care manufacturing
• Pharmaceuticals
• Food production
• Leadership experience in a maintenance or operations environment
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
