Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians and specialists to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous facility operations. This role provides technical leadership and oversight for preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs across building systems, mechanical infrastructure, and material handling equipment. The position ensures all work is performed in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements while supporting operational reliability and performance goals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and enforce accountability for self and team members.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of maintenance personnel to support operational continuity.
- Assign, coordinate, and monitor daily work activities to ensure efficient task execution and team accountability.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions as needed in alignment with company policies.
- Promote teamwork, positive employee relations, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support efforts to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational performance metrics.
- Maintain and oversee refrigeration systems, including ammonia and/or Freon-based systems.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, safety requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and required documentation.
- Assist in the development, forecasting, and management of departmental budgets.
- Interpret and utilize technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and equipment drawings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Operate powered industrial equipment as required and maintain appropriate certifications.
- Communicate effectively across all levels regarding safety, maintenance activities, and operational priorities.
- Work flexible and/or rotating schedules as required to support business needs.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial environment required
- Experience with industrial mechanical systems, motors, and motor controls required
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred
