What is a Maintenance Supervisor?

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring timely and effective repair and maintenance of production equipment and facility systems. This role leads maintenance technicians, coordinates work schedules, and supports preventative maintenance programs. The position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.

What You Can Expect to Do as a Maintenance Supervisor:

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities and work assignments
• Lead maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues
• Ensure execution of preventative maintenance programs
• Coordinate maintenance work with production to minimize disruptions
• Monitor equipment performance and address maintenance needs proactively
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with installation and startup of new equipment
• Communicate maintenance priorities and updates to leadership and production teams

What We Are Looking For in a Maintenance Supervisor:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
• 5–8 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and maintenance practices
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
