PURPOSE:

Ensure production and quality by maintaining the operation of CNC-based machines, mechanical equipment, building systems, and related infrastructure.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Implement and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
  • Perform maintenance on CNC servo systems, CNC controllers, and CNC-based equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machine tools, ensuring optimal performance of servo motors, controllers, and automation systems.
  • Oversee building maintenance and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural upkeep, to ensure a safe and functional facility.
  • Provide technical training and development for maintenance personnel on CNC systems, equipment, and building systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of CNC-related supplies, tools, spare parts, and building maintenance materials.
  • Coordinate the work order system by scheduling maintenance tasks and determining required materials for CNC equipment and building systems.
  • Schedule daily work requirements and maintain accurate maintenance records for CNC systems and facility upkeep.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in assigned areas, including CNC workstations and building common areas.
  • Assist in evaluating maintenance personnel performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

3–5 years of trades training or equivalent, including experience with CNC servo systems, CNC controllers, CNC-based maintenance, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical). Knowledge of shop mathematics, handbook formulas, and precision measuring instruments required. Must understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and basic electrical operations for maintaining CNC machine tools, equipment, and building infrastructure.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, CNC programming, sketches, diagrams, machine manuals, building system schematics, safety rules, and maintenance procedures. Capable of independent research, effective communication, responsibility, and initiative.

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to perform calculations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and work with close tolerances critical for CNC operations and building system maintenance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems in CNC and building maintenance with limited standardization, interpret varied instructions, and use tools and welding equipment for plant and facility upkeep. Must be flexible, cooperative, and respectful to all internal and external customers.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in word processing, manufacturing software, database software, CNC controller interfaces, and building management system software.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

OSHA forklift certification required; must be able to operate a forklift.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes supervisory responsibilities over maintenance personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee will work in a factory and facility environment with exposure to CNC machines, moving mechanical parts, building systems, noise, oil, grease, dirt, heat, cold, water, and smoke. The role involves using CNC maintenance tools, precision instruments, forklifts, hoists, computers, and building maintenance equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must frequently lift up to 40 pounds and requires close vision for CNC system diagnostics and building system inspections. The role involves standing, using hands to handle or feel, reaching, and communicating. Frequent walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, or bending are required. The employee will stand for the majority of the shift.
