Job Overview:

Maintenance Supervisor/Technician

Reports to Operations Manager

About the Role

We're looking for a Maintenance Supervisor/Technician to lead maintenance operations at our facility. In this role, you'll perform various maintenance tasks involving production and support equipment, office spaces, and plant facilities — while training, coaching, and directing a team of maintenance personnel.

What You'll Do

  • Develop training documents for maintenance personnel on maintenance and production equipment
  • Assist production set-up and supervisors to ensure timely, efficient equipment set-ups, changeovers, and start-ups, minimizing production delays
  • Train, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to maintenance personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Assign planned maintenance tasks to maintenance personnel, including yourself
  • Maintain the work order system and coordinate with other department supervisors on upcoming work
  • Qualify and work with suppliers and departmental managers to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and function of equipment and the facility
  • Develop and maintain machine parts inventory, ordering replacements as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to solve problems and support company objectives
  • Actively assist in installing, repairing, and overhauling production, support, and shop equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Develop and maintain a functional preventive maintenance program using industry standards, overseeing all facets of the program
  • Develop and maintain KPI reports for the department, including spend, worked hours, downtime tracking, PM compliance, LDM board, and 5S compliance
  • Direct and coordinate maintenance staff activities
  • Assist in designing, constructing, and modifying equipment and tooling to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Develop action plans to keep the facility fully operational
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to maintenance personnel; communicate performance, training needs, and development opportunities to the Operations Manager
  • Promote and enforce compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices
  • Assist with maintenance staff scheduling, overtime coordination, and vacation coverage planning

Additional Responsibilities

  • Basic building maintenance
  • Purchase replacement parts for machines and the workshop as needed, with Operations Manager approval
  • Special projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • High School or Vocational School Diploma
  • Ability to set up and proficiently use common shop metal and woodworking tools and equipment
  • Trade school certification a plus
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate or trainable
  • PLC and electrical experience a plus
  • Experience with metal, acrylic, and wood fabrication
  • Ability to work overtime and Saturdays
