Role Summary/Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and support systems. This position supervises maintenance personnel, prioritizes work orders, drives preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting capability, and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Plan, prioritize, and assign preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work.
- Ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Support production operations by responding quickly to equipment failures and operational needs.
- Monitor and improve preventive maintenance (PM) compliance and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
- Manage maintenance inventory and spare parts requirements.
- Assist in developing maintenance budgets and controlling departmental costs.
- Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance personnel to support skill development and accountability.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety standards.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred.
Education Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance scheduling software.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
