Job Overview:


Primary Objective:

 

The Maintenance Service Technician I will work independently and proficiently machine maintenance ability to work on mechanical and electrical repairs.   Trouble shooting 

Major Areas of Accountability

 

  1. With assistance, evaluate repair requests to determine course of action and/or parts required.  
  2. Coordinates repair schedule with supervisor to minimize equipment down time.
  3. Confer with machine manufacturer for troubleshooting.  
  4. Complete all required paperwork and updates service records as needed.
  5. Perform basic troubleshooting with assistance. 
  6. Complete preventative maintenance and maintain schedule as directed.  
  7. Performs other related duties as directed.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school graduate; or
  • GED; or  
  • BOCES Machine Shop classes; or
  • Skilled trade school graduate

Experience

  • 6 to 12 months of machine repair or machine shop experience
  • Mechanical aptitude

  • 1 year of machine shop experience

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
