Job Overview:

Title: Maintenance Repair Operations Manager (MRO)
Location: Freeport, TX
 

Salary: $116,000 - $169,000
Schedule: 9/80; 5-8s or 4-10s
Relocation Available 

Focus: The Maintenance Repair Operations Manager (MRO) oversees the upkeep, repair, and efficient running of facilities and equipment, balancing preventive maintenance with urgent fixes, managing budgets, teams, inventory (MRO supplies), and ensuring safety/compliance to minimize downtime and keep operations smooth. As part of the Olin Freeport Maintenance Leadership Team, the leader plays a key role in achieving site objectives.
 

Maintenance Repair Operations Manager (MRO) Essential Functions:

  • Coach, develop, and empower the MRO team to maximize their personal and collective contribution to meet business and functional objectives
  • Promote a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and professional development to enhance team capabilities and support long-term organizational success
  • Prepare budgets, estimate costs for activities, and manage spending for MRO supplies and projects
  • Oversee MRO supplies (tools, parts, PPE, janitorial items) to prevent costly stockouts
  • Define and maintain the MRO inventory strategy (service level targets, critical spares philosophy, min/max policies, lead-time strategy).
  • Establish storeroom governance: ownership of item master data, approvals, controls, and audit cadence.
  • Develop and maintain critical spare lists aligned to asset criticality and risk. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and respond to emergency repairs


Maintenance Repair Operations Manager (MRO) Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree* in Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of related maintenance or operations experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience in daily maintenance activities, turnaround management, or operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Maintenance Work Processes and operating systems in an industrial environment, including effectively working with all stakeholders while facilitating program development and championing program implementation
  • Proficiency with SAP 
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred 
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
