Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and overseeing the maintenance activities of equipment and facilities to ensure their optimal operation and longevity. This role involves creating detailed maintenance plans, and ensuring that maintenance work is performed safely and efficiently.

· Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Work Order (WO) coordination of all plant equipment and facility equipment. This includes all outside contracted maintenance PMs and WOs.
· Conducts weekly PM meetings, closely working with scheduling department while providing expectations of equipment release to perform PM’s and close out WO’s.
· Strong organizational and computer skills to include record keeping of equipment in PM/WO database.
· Work closely with Maintenance Manager to ensure Manpower schedule coincides with PM/WO task assignments. This includes all outside contracted maintenance.
· Estimates required hours on PM/WO tasks, determines appropriate skills required to perform the task, and assigns tasks accordingly to proper Maintenance personnel via daily shift schedules.
· Prepare and maintain a weekly maintenance PM schedule and scheduled downtime maintenance.
· Provide weekly progress tracking of PM/WO program with explanations to why deliverables not met.
· Provides daily/weekly measurement of scheduled work adherence and Operations standard hours lost due to unplanned maintenance.
· Maintain records in compliance with applicable quality procedures.
· Conduct plant-wide safety checks on equipment as needed.
· Responsible for following safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.
· Complete requisitions with proper approvals for maintenance items needed to repair equipment, perform PM/WO duties, and maintain critical spare parts crib to proper levels for continued production.
· Assists Maintenance Supervisor in parts crib inventory, restock and organization of all parts assigned.
· Tracks all PM/WO parts and places them into kitted bins so maintenance technicians can quickly and easily locate and identify them to install on equipment 24/7 days a week.
· Responsible for timely completion of all maintenance repairs to machinery, equipment and facility.
· Meet with Maintenance management to discuss follow-ups to PM completion and WOs to ensure these are assigned to proper technicians to make repairs.

Knowledge/skills/tasks/abilities
· Strong computer skills with working knowledge of project planning while utilizing computer generated tasks to include assignment and follow up of findings needing addressed.
· Strong communications skills to work closely with scheduling, Operations and Maintenance Department.
· Must strive to meet on time completion of scheduled PM of equipment in timely manner.
· Must always remain flexible to scheduling demands and assist scheduling with alternate dates to complete scheduled PM tasks.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents use as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Knowledge of facility and plant equipment, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics.
· Working knowledge of programmable controls, including the ability to troubleshoot and modify programs through the use of appropriate tools.
· Willingness to continue training to upgrade skills, as required.
