We are seeking a maintenance mechanic to work collaboratively within our highly talented and innovative teams. The ideal candidate thrives in an agile environment and has a passion for delivering world-class solutions.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, promote safe work practices, and foster a strong safety culture.
- Working rotating shift supporting a 7-Days/Week, 24 Hr/Day operation
- Working overtime as needed.
- Professional, pro-active and self-managing approach to work
Required skills, experience and traits:
- 5-8 years related mechanical experience.
- Extensive experience in rotating equipment repair and installation (including power transmission, bearings, precision measurement, and precision shaft alignment).
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand equipment manuals and assembly drawings.
- Rigging and general welding (Mig, Tic, Arc) experience.
- Effective verbal and written communications with all levels of the organization
- Main accountabilities
• Plan, layout, and perform diversified installation, maintenance, and repair operations, as assigned to maintain the physical plant, machinery, equipment, and auxiliaries in proper operating condition.
• Work from drawings, P&IDs, sketches, diagrams, manuals, work orders, and oral instructions to install, adjust, repair, and perform maintenance duties.
• Maintain, adjust, install or repair physical assets included but not limited to: pumps, pipes, vessels, motors, conveyors, mills, etc.
• Use measuring and testing instruments.
• Level, align and secure machines, equipment and auxiliaries.
• Welding ; MIG, TIG, and Stick.
• Deliver effective turnover to the oncoming team through verbal and written communication (logbook).
• Safely perform all required duties. Includes but not limited to, performing safety audits, monthly training topics, and daily safety messages.
• Maintain a clean work environment per established Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Required to learn all aspects of Technical Process Operation via a progressive training program and demonstrate proficiency. - Train other technicians.
- Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:
• Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
• Use of hand tools above shoulders, under ergonomically stressful conditions, and under application of heavy force by employee
• Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment
• Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)
• Must be able to pass pulmonary test that is required prior to wearing breathing air mask
• Ability to perform work in confined spaces while wearing breathing PPE
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders (fixed/portable) with tools when safe to do so.
• Ability to work from heights, and in cold and hot environments.
• Climb a vertical ladder up to 15ft
• Climb several flights of stairs, several times a shift
• Stand for prolonged periods of time
• Bending and twisting motion at the waist and knees
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with flexibility to work alternate schedules as needed.
